The Dell Precision 5520 features an identical build and design of the XPS lineup, which is also why I re used a lot of footage from my Dell XPS 15 reviews. In this video we’re taking a look at some of the pros and cons that came up during my use of the 5520.

Can it run cs??
I want a much gaming laptop
Does it have a fingerprint reader
And now with the dreaded and cheap 'chiclet' keyboard ! Good job Dell, I won't be buying until you come to your senses
I've seen SO MANY issues with DELL laptops on forums ugh :S
My XPS 15 also buggy as hell 🤮🤮
Dumping Dell forever!
It's beautiful, but for the price you could easily go up to the 7520 and lose a little mobility or stick with a high end Latitude 7000 series configuration unless you need the additional graphics power. Even then the 5000 series has nice options. It's not nearly as sleek, that is true, but looking at the costs of that, you'll pay a price for that Macbook pro type of sleek. the 7000 series of both Latitude and precision laptops might be expensive, I find the Precision/xps lines in similar territory far as price/performance, and surly the precision 5000/xps 15 is a much, much better value verses the XPS 13. Another related and fantastic model that lacks the upgrablity. Hint high end equals expensive!
does it good for premiere pro and after effect?
does the whiney look on your face transfer over to the experience of your use of the laptop 😀 😀
Hay dos laptop distintas en el video, miren detenidamente el marco de la pantalla
Hi,
with 1080p display, how long the full charged battery holds (before it runs out) with just using internet (no other program is used)?
guess i got lucky– have the low end i5 , for 3 months, couple games i can't play. other then that, out of the 10 or more Dell laptops i have had over the years, the 5520 is the best.
might want to inform ppl that the mousepad is absolute crap. Its impossible to disable touchclicking cause dell cheaped out on the driver. So unless you like the mouse to click all over the screen whenever you acidentally touch it, get something else. Also, the buildquality is not as good as ppl keep claiming. Try holding it one handed by the leftside of the palmrest, that will depress the mousebuttons without even touching the mousearea, LOL. Yea I bought one of these, and I regret it.
Too many problems with this machine – unfortunately this is what I got from my workplace. It is the 4K version with i7-7820HQ, heats up and shuts down occasionally, too much light leaks off the sides of screen, backspace button already making sounds and missing key strokes, laptop fans beat the noise of my ceiling fan even when doing moderately intensive work. My previous M6800 was quieter. Battery life is okay – built in speakers are nice for such a thin machine.
GGGGGGG
What was name of the music on this video review?
Can this work for gaming? Such as fortnite
who tf uses webcams
You are being paid by dell..right?
Ethernet port is missing.
Hi! How are u? If u can answer me, i will be very grateful! Can I do Hackintosh in this PC? And how much does it weigh?
The 4k display has some light leaking defects on almost all of them because dell replaced mine 3 times and found the same defect on all of them definitely something i suspect must be on all the 4k screen precision and xps laptops . It can be seen in while viewing a complete black picture in a fairly dark or precisely evenings. Hope you could warn the new and the old customers for awareness on your review.
Hey TechMeNow would you prefer the dell precision 7000 or 5000 series?
It's extremely noisy and hot.
Hi, i dont have any idea if it is revit/cad capable? You do have some advice? Thanks
Im looking for a slim and good video editing/photo editing laptop, do you think the 5520 is a good choice?
Or would the XPS be better?
Looks nice
Thermal design power is terrible (keeps restarting because of overheating so expect to get a cooling pad if you want to do anything beefy). My motherboard died after 2 months, my coworker's monitor died after 2 weeks (5 of us have this laptop at work). Don't buy the 4k one. The video card is unable to handle that resolution when you do anything that needs a good vcard. The build quality is superb, touchpad is okay. Way too overpriced.
Hi Tobias , thanks for the video but I could use some more information on this particular laptop.
– What is the battery life boost with 1080p display?
– What is the HDMI port version ?
– How many lanes does TB port have ?
– Does it throttle under heavy load ?
– Do screen lid or keyboard flex?
Thanks !
no numpad.. rip
is it a top choice for animating ….i rather invest in a powerful workstation and an intuos pro ..

Man. Awesome video. You deserve much more views and subs. Best of luck
How is the experience with solidworks in this workstation
hi, ok so next year i'll be studying 3D graphics and animations, do you think it is a good choice ? also wich options should i choose ?
Could it run unreal engine 4 1080p realistic 4k image drop down at 60fps under heavy strain with multiple ai plus high poly count?
The screen in your video doesn't look like much reflective compared to the one I saw from my colleague. Did you add any additional screen sticker for anti glare? My biggest issue with this laptop was the screen was not anti glare.
Nice review, dude. Good editing too.
Finally a review with music I could tolerate. Liked the review, not to technical, but a nice summary to what you get.
Hi… Wish to have a best opinion from you… I am an Architect, as a part of my profession i use to work on AutoCAD, REVIT Architecture, SketchUP, Vray Rendering, Photoshop, Indesign and Premier i am a regular user of all these software for my final productivity of design presentation… I am planing to buy a laptop wich is good in performance, durability and user friendly… In my list of choice LENOVO ThinkPAD T series and ASUS ZENBOOK PRO UX550 is on prior due to its configuration and User friendly design(Size)… Kindly can you help me to choose a better one… ThinkPAD P series is better workstation but i couldn't able to carry such a huge gaint laptop place to place were i travel… Thanks…
if the camera is the only con everyone finds then you need to rethink about whats important in this life. im buying this killer laptop and using a higher resolution extrenal camera like every other logical and demanding person would do with all the other laptops! plus, who the hell is gonna use a 15,6 inch laptop to do a 3D modeling project or video editing or any type of work? this supposed to help you when you're not home or near an external screen, mouse and keyboard so why even care about how perfect this keyboard and track pad is? are there people that gonna use a laptop for heavy work load without ,at least, a external keyboard and mouse? thanks for the review!
… no specs?
Does it come with coil whine ?
May I ask why it's not good for video editing?
My job is to work with sound editing(CB) and Adobe programs lie video and photoshop editing. is it the best? or should i go on XPS?
